34th Annual Yankee Doodle Days Starts on Thursday
The Grand Ledge Chamber of Commerce is excited to present the 34th Annual Yankee Doodle Days on Thursday, June 15 through Sunday, June 18. This family-friendly community event will take place at its new location at Jaycee Park, 525 E. River Street. All of the proceeds from this event and all Chamber events are allocated to promoting the Grand Ledge community and its members.
THURSDAY, JUNE 15
The event kicks off with the Grand Ledge Masons serving hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and pop from 5:00 PM until close. The Storytellers take the stage at 6:30 PM. This family-friendly event is sponsored by the Grand Ledge District Library. Next, the free Music in the Park concert series features musician Abbey Hoffman performing at 7:00 PM, followed by The Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle.
FRIDAY, JUNE 16
The Grand Ledge Masons are back at 5:00 PM serving more food. The Grand Ledge Area Retailers will be hosting its Nite Owl Shopping event from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
There is a $5 admittance fee after 7:00 PM for the entertainment tent, and you must be 21 years old with a valid ID to enter. Global Village will perform at 8:00 PM.
SATURDAY, JUNE 17
The Grand Ledge Farmers' Market will be open from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Jaycee Park with some vendors staying later. Breakfast will be served beginning at 10:00 AM at Beagle's Cafe' and Bakery. Starting at 10:00 AM the Grand Ledge Masons will also add pulled pork sandwiches to their menu and continue serving food until close.
There will be a Craft Show with more than 70 vendors displaying a variety of items at Jaycee Park from 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
The Yankee Doodle Day parade kicks off at 11:00 AM and heads down Bridge Street towards the fire barn. When the parade ends, families should stop by Jaycee Park and W. River Street for our Kid’s Day festivities. There will be plenty of fun and exciting activities this year, including pony rides, scavenger hunt, Potter Park Zoo animals, K-9 dogs, obstacle course, dual slides, bounce house, magicians, clowns, fun time photos, flying drones and small planes, police sticker badges and kid’s ID kits, and much more. The kids can also Touch-A-Truck on W. River Street and in the island parking lot.
The Grand Princess Riverboat will offer rides throughout the day on the Grand River every hour beginning at 12:00 PM from the dock on the Island.
Trinity Episcopal Church will be hosting a Red, White, and *Blue*-tiful: Music event at 1:00 PM.

There is also a Riverboat Fireworks Cruise leaving the island dock at 8:00 PM for those wanting to watch the fireworks from the river while enjoying appetizers. The Fireworks Extravaganza will begin around 10:00 PM after dusk and will be launched from the Island Park along the river. The bridge on Bridge Street between River and Front Streets will be closed during the fireworks, so the crowd can enjoy the display up close.
SUNDAY, JUNE 18
The festivities will conclude with music from 1:00 - 5:00 PM.

There are several parking spots along River Street as well as city parking lots located downtown. Handicap parking will be available at Jaycee Park.
